Make this easy spider craft for toddlers and kids.
This spider web craft is really easy, even for very young children. It’s perfect for when you’re learning about nature, mini beasts or getting ready for Halloween.
Supplies needed
- Thick cardboard
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Yarn
- Child safe threading needle (optional)
- Black card
- Googly eyes
Tips for making kids spider craft
- Use a blunt threading needle suitable for kids if you have one but otherwise the holes are big enough that the yarn can simply be pushed through.
- Don’t make the yarn too long is it gets tricky for little people to pull through each hole. You can always tie on extra lengths if you need more.
- I’ve used white wool as a traditional spider web colour but it would look cool in all kinds of colours.
Instructions
- Cut out an octagon from thick cardboard
- Punch holes all around the edge
3. Tie the end of a piece of yarn to one of the holes.
4. Cut the yarn to a comfortable length for threading. (You can tie another length on if you need more).
5. Thread yarn through holes randomly to create a web.
6. Cut out a spider shape from black card and add googly eyes.
7. Glue spider onto web.
You’re finished!
